National eCAF

eCAF is the e-enablement of the Common Assessment Framework (CAF).

• eCAF will allow a practitioner to electronically create, store and share a CAF Form securely.
• eCAF will give authorised practitioners from different agencies secure access to key information concerning the assessment. This will allow them to plan, monitor and review a co-ordinated approach to delivery of the most appropriate services.

The DCSF is developing a single, national, eCAF system to facilitate effective working across both geographical and organisational borders. It is anticipated that eCAF will be implemented in Somerset from early 2010.
